Here are some examples: Sheela has been dating Rajen for over a year. During the last few months, Rajen has become increasingly possessive of Sheela. He calls her multiple times a day and insists on knowing where she goes and which friends she goes out with. Last week they got into a heated argument and Rajen slapped Sheela. Sheela is a victim of dating violence. Neil has just entered eighth grade in a new junior high school. He becomes friends with Jeremy whom he finds out carries a knife. Neil is afraid to tell anyone about the knife because he knows Jeremy can get angry easily. Neil may be involved in an act of school violence. Thirteen year-old Meghana has grown up seeing her dad hit her mother, often for what seems to be no reason. Her father has become increasingly angry with Meghana, often shouting at her and threatening to beat her. Meghana is experiencing family violence. Fifteen-year-old Santosh has just had his uncle from India move into his house. His uncle has taken Santosh out to eat and to the movies multiple times, and Santosh has enjoyed spending time with him. Recently, his uncle started to become increasingly physical with Santosh, often touching him in places and ways that make him feel uncomfortable. Santhosh is experiencing one form of sexual violence. Last month, Joe ended his relationship with Manisha. They had been dating for over two years. Manisha first felt extremely hurt, then extremely sad. She no longer wants see her friends and isolates herself from her family. She hasnt been eating or sleeping well, and the pain she feels inside seems like it will never go away.
