DONATIONS

Contributions to Maitri are fully tax deductible and are exempt from state and federal taxes (Tax ID Number 94-3132087)

• You can also make donations through United Way and specify that your donations be given to Maitri.

• We meet all qualifications for employee charitable donation matching programs offered by most corporations to their employees.
• 
  
  
• If you have a car in good working condition and would like to donate it to Maitri, we always have clients who need cars.
• 
  
  
• If you are a family or immigration lawyer and willing to do pro bono or discounted work for Maitri, we have an urgent need for your services.
• 
  
  
• If you are a counselor, a social worker or a psychologist and willing to do pro bono or discounted work for Maitri, we have an urgent need for your services
• 
  
  
• If you know of any job openings at your workplace or in your community, we would like to pass the information to our clients.

We also need the following:

• Grocery cards to local Safeways or Albertsons.
• 
  
  
• Phone cards, both domestic and international cards, where clients can contact their families within the United States and outside of it.
• 
  
  
• Shopping cards to local Walmart, Kmart, Target, and such stores.
• 
  
  
• Gas Cards which clients can use towards at least one months car fueling expenses.
• 
  
  
• If you own a second home in the Bay Area and are currently renting it out, you may consider donating a twelve to twenty-four month rent-free space for the Maitri Transitional Home.
